Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair; English style. The polished lock is relief-carved with leafy work on the tail of the lock plate; engraved with a signature in a ribbon. The barrel is polished and has a silver front sight; lightly engraved with leafy work; stamped at the bottom with a large mark with the letters E and L. The stock has a curved grip; the forestock has a cowhorn cap; carved in the Rococo style. The formerly gilded, yellow copper mount with chased and chased decoration, apart from a military trophy engraved on the trigger guard, consists of a screw plate with an unworked shield flanked by Rococo curls and a butt cap with a large mask; the ramrod has a cowhorn cap matching the forestock.
