Flint cavalry pistol, States Army

Cavalry pistol for the States Army; made by the National Gun Factory in Culemborg. The lock is practically the same as that of NG-2002-23-173; the lockplate is stamped with the coat of arms of Culemborg, an undecipherable mark and the letters DM; DM is repeated on the inside. The barrel is stamped on top with an unidentifiable mark and at the bottom with HI or IH. The stock has a curved grip; no carved decoration; stamped with AG. The brass furniture consists of two sliding barrel tangs, the front one with a front sight, an acolyte-shaped screw plate according to the British land model, the stock cap and an oval thumbplate engraved with B3; no provision for a ramrod.
