About this work

Flintlock pistol or pocket pistol. The lockplate is engraved with leafy vines, a reclining lady with a bird and a difficult-to-read signature; the two pans are mounted one above the other and separated by a tiltable plate to gain access to the lower pan. The barrel is octagonal along its entire length. Except for an iron trigger guard that can be partially unscrewed from the stock, the furniture is of silver.
