Double-barreled flintlock turnlock pistol

Flintlock pistol with rotating barrels; part of a pair. The lock consists of three plates: a rear plate with the lock mechanism and the two front plates each with a pan and a frizzen; the cock is openwork carved in the form of a cat; the lock is engraved with floral vines. The two barrels mounted one above the other are decorated with arabesques inlaid in silver; at the rear and in the middle punched and engraved at the breeches; marked at the bottom with CMIL and small undecipherable marks including an F and T. The stock consists of two parts: the grooved fore-end, on one side for the ramrod, and the grip which tapers into a butt knob with at the bottom an ebony plate decorated with twisted silver wire, which is again covered by an ivory plate engraved with a flower cup; the fore-end is fitted with an ivory cap and simply carved.
