Four-barreled flintlock turnlock pocket pistol

Flintlock pocket pistol with four barrels; part of a pair. The long lockplate is engraved with foliage and signed; the frizzen is relief-carved at the bottom. The four rotating barrels are held together at the breech by an iron ring; behind the mounting plate is a yellow-copper cylinder. The stock consists only of a short grip of which the butt knob is covered with openwork, chased silver foliage, partially against a background of brass foil, including a grotesque mask on top of the grip. The furniture consists of an iron trigger guard that must be pulled backwards to unlock the rotating barrel mechanism and a silver screw plate, openwork and chased with leafy vines with a stag against a background of brass foil; the ramrod is formed by two steel springs in a recess between the barrels.
