About this work
The botter is the most famous Zuiderzee fishing vessel, which occurred in a number of variants, especially in the south along the coast. It was a single-masted ship with a characteristic high head, a steep bow with a covered forecastle and a low stern to easily operate the nets. It fished with trawl and seine nets. The type has a bun, in which the fish was kept alive.
