About this work

Painted and polychromed frame model on a stand. Smooth-sided double-banked barkas, round-framed with nearly flat sheer and flat transom; a forecastle, six rowlocks and five thwart pins, and an open cabin with side rowlocks. The stem is fitted with a disc. Simple rudder with a brass tiller bent around the mizzenmast. The rigging consists of a mainmast with a split lug sail, and a mizzenmast with a parrel stick to which a small triangular mizzen is attached. The oars are stored in oarlocks. The model is fitted with two supports of a sunshade and a boat hook. Scale 1:10 (derived).
