About this work
Round bronze plaque set in a dark wooden frame with a glass dome. The subject is based on the painting The Battle of Waterloo by J.W. Pieneman. In the front left the wounded Prince of Orange with Wellington on horseback slightly behind him. The subject has a text around it: '1815 1865 Wellington. Bleucher. Oranje'. At the top a scroll with the text: 'With God For the Netherlands and Orange', laurel branches and a standing lion on a pedestal with 'XVIII JUNII MDCCCXV'.
