About this work

In a black round frame behind glass a copper relief, depicting a battle (the Battle of Waterloo after the painting by Pieneman). Above hangs a scroll with inscription, two branches and the lion of Waterloo on a pedestal. Reverse: green felt with label with guarantee against forgery, signed by the artist. Border inscription: 1815 1865 WELLINGTON. BLUECHER. ORANJE. Inscription on scroll: MET GOD VOOR NEDERLAND EN ORANJE. Signed on the reverse on the label: A. W. Sythoff.
