About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand. He brings the musket to his mouth to blow the match, covering the pan with two fingers to protect against sparks. This print is part of the series of 42 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe. On this copy, the number is printed.
