About this work

A soldier, full-length, pouring powder from a powder flask into the pan (the powder reservoir) of a musket (a specific type of firearm). In his left hand, besides the musket, a lit match. This print is part of the series of 42 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
