About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand. With his right hand, he removes the lit match lying on the cock (part of the ignition mechanism) of his musket. This print is part of the series of 42 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
