About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, closing the pan (the powder reservoir) of his musket (a specific type of firearm) with his right hand. In his left hand, besides the musket, a lit match. This print is part of the series of 42 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
