About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand. With his right hand, he presses a lit match onto the cock (part of the ignition mechanism) of his musket. This print is part of the series of 42 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
