About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) and a fork (musket fork) in his left hand. With his right hand, he loosens the burning match lying on the cock (part of the firing mechanism) of his musket. This print is part of the series of 43 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
