About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, with a musket (a specific type of firearm) resting on his left shoulder. In his left hand, besides the butt of the musket, he also holds a burning match and a fork (musket fork). This is (almost) the same position as the one shown on the second print of the series. This print is part of the series of 43 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
