About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, with a matchlock (a specific type of firearm) resting on his left shoulder. In his left hand, besides the stock of the matchlock, a burning match. This is the same position as shown in the first print of the series. This print is part of the series of 42 hand-numbered prints of matchlockmen in the Wapenhandelinghe.
