About this work
Flag of France, on the red cloth the Virgin Mary with the child Jesus on a yellow oval with a notched/radiating border. On the red cloth, further fleur-de-lis scattered in a regular pattern. Flag on flagstaff and mast foot. Depicted on folio 11r. Part of a flag book with flags from Europe, North Africa, the Near and Far East. As the only one in the flag book, this flag has a different reverse side (NG-2018-301-10).
