Breastplate of cuirass

Breastplate, iron, bright; the arm and neck openings, as well as the lower and back edges of the belly collar, are flared. Decorative lines applied parallel to the flared edges of the breastplate. At the level of the arm openings, two rotatable hooks with knobs to which shoulder straps can be attached. The left hook is partly copper-colored. In the center of the breastplate, a vertical midrib runs from the neck opening downwards and ends in a small bulge just above the belly collar. Broad belly collar, folded over in the middle into two parts. On the belly collar, four buttons with round holes to which thigh plates can be attached. At the top, in the center between the decorative line and the edge, the inscription IG32. The interior is painted black; on the right side, a newly inserted bright rivet. In the center, the mark of the city of Amsterdam.
