Model of a Bread Oven

Model of a mechanical bread oven on a base plate. It is a box-like construction that can be taken apart into two halves to reveal the interior. In the center of the long front is a firebox with an underground ash pit. Inside, the hot gases are led through flat channels to the four corners, then up to a metal double ceiling above the oven, and finally out through a chimney; the chimney has a flap that can be operated from the outside. The channels have flaps in the corners that can be operated with a key from the outside. The actual bread oven is a large space in the middle through which endless chains run from one side to the other; on these chains, racks with bread are placed and transported by a gear mechanism on both sides at the front from one side to the other. With ten screws protruding above the roof, the height of the chains can be determined.
