About this work

Silver chalice, the cup with military and naval attributes on both sides, a crowned H and inscription. The stem consists of two intertwined fantasy fish spouting water and reeds; the foot has a relief of water, and the edges are bound by cables. Marked with master's marks of Van Kempen, year letter F (=1865), Minerva's head, and assay marks.
