About this work
Model of the upper part of a rudder with a round rudder head and parts of an elliptical stern gallery, on a baseboard. The rudder head is curved and has an octagonal top, so it can be locked with a locking plate. Two brackets at the top of the head hold a short rudder post. The lower rudder post, which runs below deck, has at the end a sliding iron band with two rotating blocks: this is the 'Rapson-Slide'. Both rudder posts are made of iron.
