About this work

Model of the upper part of a rudder with a round rudder head and parts of an elliptical rudder post, on a baseboard. The rudder head is curved and has an octagonal top, so it can be locked with a locking plate. Two holes at the top of the head for the brackets of an extra rudder post (cf. NG-MC-1355); the spare rudder post has been found, but the brackets are missing. The iron rudder post, which runs below deck, has a sliding iron band with two rotating blocks at the end: this is the 'Rapson Slide'.
