About this work

Five cable samples, four of galvanized iron and one of copper; all five samples are held together at the ends by brass rings. The iron cables are all cable-laid, consisting of six strands around a core, strands and core consisting of six wire-laid wires around a seventh. The copper cable is also cable-laid, consisting of six wire-laid strands around a rope core; the strands also each consist of six copper wires around a rope core.
