About this work
Patent glass with a removable grate. The brass flange is screwed onto the deck with six screws; the glass is inserted from below with the matte convex side down and secured with a bayonet closure featuring three lugs in the flange; two handles for turning are attached to the rim. When the glass is opened and hangs in three brackets attached to the flange, the cast-iron grate can be lowered from above.
