Model of a Masting Sheer

Model of a simple tripod derrick on a baseboard representing a shore. The two legs, connected at the top by a heavy crossbeam and a cap, lean forward and are held back by two guys and six stays. The legs stand on a wall with a semicircular recess. The stays are secured with juffer blocks to hooks in the ground, which are set in an arch behind a work platform. The guys have slot-shaped tracks on the platform, in which they can be secured in several places. The platform covers an open shelter and can be removed, revealing the pile foundation. A wooden roller on the front edge of the platform and the man behind the platform likely helped in manipulating the round timber. The two tackles are driven by treadmills, one on each side.
