Model of a Masting Sheer

Model of a derrick crane, hoisting a mast, on a baseboard. The legs lean forward and are held back by two guys and four stays attached to bollards. The foot in which the guys stand is adjustable in three positions. Behind the bollards stand two capstans and behind them two bitts. Between the legs of the derrick crane stands a heavy bitt. Two tackles, one for the top and one for the lower part of the mast: the rope is attached to the top of the derrick crane and goes from there through the double block attached to the mast and a three-sheave block at the top of the derrick crane, then to a block on the bitt, back to the three-sheave block at the top and down again. At the top of the mast there are still two blocks. On the back of the crane legs, steps for climbing have been attached.
