Model of a 74-Gun Ship on a Slipway

Construction model of the hull of a 74-gun ship of the line on a slipway, according to the French method of launching. The planking is omitted on the port side below the wales and on the starboard side above the wales; on the starboard side, a section of planking with frames can be removed in three places. Sixty-seven gunports distributed over three decks, plus eight places for guns on the quarterdeck. The stern is worked out only on the port side: the figurehead is a woman in Roman dress with a laurel wreath in her raised hand. Twisted stern with two ports in the false keel; the one-decked stern is decorated with allegorical figures, armorial trophies and an oval shield with wreath and branch; above, two ports of the half-deck. On the starboard side, a one-decked side gallery with an open toilet above. Straight rudder with square rudder head and holes for two rudder pintles, six rudder stocks and a gudgeon; double steering wheel on the half-deck.
