Model of a 54-Gun Ship

Construction model of the hull, cut lengthwise with the two halves placed one above the other on a baseboard. Various construction parts are numbered alphabetically. The starboard half is fully worked out, sheathed on the outside with planking, resting and chock blocks, and fully caulked on the inside, while the port half is open to reveal the construction. Only the starboard side has gunports, twenty-eight in number; five decks. On the elaborately carved stern a crowned lion as a figurehead. Twisted stern and hollow false keel with two ports, stern and two-decked side gallery. The sheer rises at both ends, two wales and a garboard strake. Framed with round frames.
