Model of a Marker Waterschip

Construction model of the hull of a Marker waterschip, on a stand. Parts of the deck and planking are omitted to allow study of the construction. It is a smooth-sided pointed stern boat with a high vertical stem and a straight falling sternpost. Broad rudder with wooden tiller. There is one deck with a deckhouse, which covers the cabin and hold: this superstructure is built over the frames and has the curved shape characteristic of ships of this type, and has a small opening for a chimney. In front of this superstructure is a capstan; further, a capstan in the bow, one in the stern, and three small capstans on the quarterdeck. The sheer rises sharply forward. The hull shape is round with a keel, and the planking is perforated for the hold. On the quarterdeck is a scuttle for the mainsheet, and on the foredeck the mast step; the model has four pendants on each side.
