Model of a Pilot Cutter

Very detailed block model with rigging of a lead smacks, on a brass stand. The vessel has one flat deck. It has a straight, sharp smack stem, and an overhanging stern decorated with foliage, a shell, and the inscription. Rudder with round rudder head (American rudder) and brass tiller on deck. On the deck is a gangway and a cabin; all ironwork executed in detail, winches, pumps, etc. The sheer rises slightly forward and aft, one reehout. The hull shape is a sharp S-frame. The rigging consists of a mast with topmast, very long gaff and boom, and a bowsprit that can be retracted and extended by means of a rack and pinion on a winch.
