Model of the 12-Gun Brig 'Pijl'

Rigged block model. Twelve guns and fourteen ports; two continuous decks and a superstructure with access below decks. The figurehead is a Roman soldier with shield, spear, and sword, the knee knees are decorated with painted vines. Twisted transom, hollow wulf, stern of one storey decorated with scrollwork and a coat of arms with an arrow, two ports in the rail above the stern; no side galleries but a window on each side. Straight rudder with square rudder head and tiller lamps, tiller operated by steering tackles on the deck. The model is equipped with two anchors, a cooking spit, a Y-shaped chimney for the galley, two pumps, and a compass house. The sheer rises slightly at both ends, one oak plank and one elm plank. Peaked round frame. The model has a two-masted brig rig without sails. Scale 1:36 (derived).
