About this work
Right: flintlock cannon lock with brass casing and iron lock mechanism, cock and pan cover. The cock has two sets of lips, which rotate around a bolt with a wing nut: it has two flints, in case one becomes unusable. The lock was mounted with two bolts through it transversely. The pull cord runs from the trigger through an eye in the casing to the rear.
