About this work

Attachment or aiming device mounted against the back of the lock elevation or lock support; from this it follows that it was only usable for ordnance with a lock support protruding beyond the highest decorative band. The bracket of the attachment fits around the rear end of the lock support and is secured with a locking pin through the lock support. The attachment rod can move vertically back and forth, with different scales on each of the four sides for different ammunition or charges. It can also be adjusted horizontally. The sight on top is pyramid-shaped with grooves through the top. Scale 1:1.
