About this work

Percussion lock on a wooden cascabel of a 30-pound carronade. The heavy lock plate is mounted on the right side against the lock elevation with two bolts running through it, and two screws in the cascabel. The hammer rotates at a right angle to the barrel. The head of the hammer has a groove for the flame from the touchhole when fired. In the stock, a hole for the lanyard is provided, and in the lock plate, a disc through which the rope is led backward. The wooden cascabel is that of a 30-pound carronade.
