About this work

Percussion lock on a wooden cascabel of a 12-pound cannon. The lock plate is mounted against the rear of the cascabel with four screws. The hammer rotates straight forward. The head of the hammer has a groove for the flame from the touchhole when fired. The lanyard is attached to and wound around a disc on the hammer's axle. The wooden cascabel is that of a short 12-pound iron cannon, Swedish model.
