Model of an 18-Pounder Carronade on a Slide

Model of a carronade on a sliding sledge, incomplete. The carronade has a caliber of 2.6 cm. The barrel has a sight elevation with a sight, a sight on the middle decorative band and one on the front band, a breeching ring, and an elevating screw through the cascabel. The upper sledge has a light trapezoidal body with brass fittings and rings; the front and rear ends are rounded. Against the rear, the handspike in brass fittings; on top, a brass plate to support the elevating screw, and at the front, the ears through which the trunnions run; the swivel bolt is missing. The lower sledge consists of a wooden frame with brass fittings, tapering slightly towards the front and rounded at the front; slightly towards the rear, a locking plate is attached to the underside, with which the sledge was secured lengthwise against the ship's wall. In this part, the hole for the pintle bolt in the door threshold is located; the door threshold is missing.
