Model of a Carronade on a Slide

Model of a carronade on a sliding sled on a baseboard representing a section of a ship's deck. The carronade has a caliber of 21 (16.6) mm and is 29 cm long. The barrel has a breech elevation with a sight, a sight on the trunnion band and one on the front band, a cascabel ring and an elevating screw through the grape; the elevating screw is covered with a rain cap. The upper sled has a light trapezoidal body with brass fittings and rings, the front and rear are rounded. Against the rear the breech block in brass fittings, on top a brass plate to support the elevating screw and at the front the ears through which the trunnion pin runs; the swivel bolt runs between the beams of the lower sled. The lower sled consists of a wooden frame with brass fittings, which tapers slightly towards the front and is rounded at the front. In the middle and rear, knees are attached, on which wheels are mounted; the rear wheels can swivel. At the rear of the frame a breech block is attached.
