About this work

State sword with silver hilt. On the pommel on both sides a bee; on the knucklebow the coat of arms of the Order of the Union, a crowned lion rising from the water. The grip is of ebony with a silver emblem of a bundle of arrows. The triangular blade is blued and ornamented with gold. The leather scabbard has a silver ring at the top engraved: "Ciovino e Fres Truffino Joaillierset Byoutiers de la Couronne a Amsterdam." The sword belongs to the uniform of a Knight in the Royal Order of Holland or the Royal Order of the Union.
