About this work
The hilt is mounted with iron in stripes alternating with high-relief foliate ornament and a recurring decorative element in the form of a climbing lion flanked by cup-shaped foliage in a triangle; the wooden grip is wound (restored) with twisted iron wire and has two iron rings on either side. The blade is double-edged and has a hexagonal cross-section; the narrow central flat is provided with a groove bearing a signature.
