About this work

The iron hilt is chased in bas-relief in various places with rows of pikemen, all seen from behind, and further with rows of riders with turbans in high relief and dog heads; the knuckle bow is chased at the bottom in high relief with riders and pikemen in front of a fortress or city gate with the year 1662 on it; the wooden grip is wrapped with twisted iron wire and has a braided grip ring on both sides. The colichemarde-shaped blade is double-edged, has a diamond cross-section and is etched with arabesques.
