Pair of epaulets worn by H.C. Broos in 1830/32, 2nd lieutenant, 1st battalion, 2nd Division National Guard

A pair of epaulettes, each epaulette of silver galloon, with a woven band of silver galloon on the tongue. The oval plate is partly surrounded by silver cord galloon. On a tongue a white metal button featuring, in a stylized wreath, a crown in the form of a walled city: three gates and two walls. Hanging from the oval plate are silver fringes. The underside of the epaulette is lined with red cloth; under the buttonhole a yellow metal hook. Under one of the tongues a square paper with the number 56. Under both plates a crescent-shaped white cloth cushion each.
