About this work
Sash of orange frayed knotted cord silk in 'Egyptian plaitwork' technique. A combination of sash M1815 with tassels M1860 (rare!), with some damage. Two tassels of the same silk, covered with a network, hang from the ends of the sash. The sash has been threaded through the tassels and secured at the bottom of the tassels with a ball. Fringes of the same material emerge from the tassels.
