About this work

Naval officer's saber with scabbard, Model 1843, Royal Navy Kingdom of the Netherlands. Saber with fire-gilded bronze hilt, consisting of pommel, pommel cap, knucklebow, pierced basket with, among others, a clear anchor, pommel. To this silver thread dragon. Inside basket: H.A. van Karnebeek during his Dutch military operations 1830-1832. Ivory ribbed grip. Iron blade. Etched on the hilt: COULAUX A..... Other side: KLINGENTHAL. Black leather scabbard with ornamented band with pommel, carrying ring, middle band with carrying ring and tip.
