About this work

Headgear of dark blue cloth, rear of black cloth. Black lacquered linen base with a broad white linen band around it. Front: white wool pompon with white metal loop and button with garnet. Below, an orange silk cockade. Two chin straps of polished white metal (yellow metal visible), mounted on a black velvet leather band with buckle. White metal rosettes. White metal 4. Rear: white metal button with garnet. The underside of the shako is trimmed with black lacquered linen band. On the underside of the flap, a label with LS. Lining: black leather with matching lacing.
