About this work

Headgear of worn wool, black leather base, flap (ribbed = French model), black velvet galons around the underside and base of the body. White metal chin straps and rosettes. Chin straps mounted on black velvet, with a buckle. White metal eight-pointed star with the national coat of arms. Inscription on the coat of arms: JE MAINTIENDRAI. Orange cockade. Interior black leather edge.
