About this work

Upper quarter on the staff side painted with a golden climbing lion, holding a flaming sword in its right claw, standing on a scroll with golden classical capitals: NON DEEST GENEROSO IN PECTORE VIRTUS (virtue is not lacking in a noble heart). The remaining three-quarters of the banner consists of sewn flame-like rays emanating from the center: red, white, and blue. Parade side identical.
