About this work

Saber of a drum-major with a leather scabbard. The hilt of the saber is cast in one piece and entirely of brass. The knuckle-bow is a curved lion's head situated on the smooth grip. The quillon is curved downwards on both sides with disc-shaped buttons. In the center of the quillon, a semi-oval downward-pointing heart-shaped guard. The blade is straight with a broad fuller. The scabbard is of leather with brass fittings. On the throat, a shield-shaped hanging loop. The drag plate is shaped like a cloverleaf.
