About this work

Sabre of French artillery without scabbard. Heavy brass hilt with one guard. Parrying bar with downward curved curl. Brass pommel. Grip with leather and braided brass wire. On the hilt 'no 2983' and two punched numbers. Three inspection marks. On the back of the blade 'Manufacture Impériale Chattelbert. Febr. 1854'. Blunted to 15 cm.
