About this work

Flintlock pistol, part of a pair, with a round smooth barrel interrupted by three profile bands; the end of the barrel has a brass sight bead and the beginning is engraved with the name 'LONDON'. The wooden stock features incised leaf motifs. A round iron lock plate with engraved depictions of flags and leaves; the letters 'L.G.E' are engraved on the left side of the lock plate. The wooden stock has incised leaf motifs and a brass butt plate with engraved leaves. Brass mountings on the left side of the stock. The trigger guard is brass with leaf-shaped ends. An iron trigger. The ramrod is wooden with a brass tip.
